- 8 cups —— Sugar
- 3 cups —— Water for syrup
- 6 cups —— Maida (All purpose flour)
- 6 – 8 tbsp —— Ghee (clarified butter) or as needed
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- Pure Ghee for deep frying
- 1/2 cup crushed Pistachios for Garnishing
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
Method:-
Syrup:
- To make a syrup add sugar in a water and boil until it becomes sticky syrup
Balushahi donuts:
- Mix Maida and baking soda together and kneading. Add milk, warm water and cardamom powder gradually and kneading continuously until it becomes stiff dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls and flatten it, make small hole in the centre or just press by finger in flattened dough.
- Now heat ghee and fry the dough in medium flame till it turns golden brown and the size of dough increases.
- Now remove dough from sauce pan and pour it into syrup for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Remove access syrup.
- Garnish with crushed pistachios and serve warm, room temperature or cold as per your taste.
